DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?
YES!! We want to make sure you get the time and attention you need. We only have a certain number of dressing rooms, and each day we schedule only the number of staff we need. So if you show up and the dressings are all booked and the staff is all tied up helping the girls with appointments, you won't be happy. Most of our customers have driven for an hour or two to get here. We don't want anyone to make the drive and not have a dressing room available. AND we want to make sure everyone has a great experience while they're here. But . . . it's easy to make an appointment: click the links at the top or bottom of this page.
CAN TWO FRIENDS SHARE ONE APPOINTMENT?
No, that doesn't work. It seems like it would, but it doesn't. You each need a room of your own. (See above about why). So you each need an appointment of your own. Give us a call if it's tough to find two together.
WILL YOU HOLD A DRESS FOR ME WHILE I DECIDE?
We understand where you're coming from here -- but we just can't. If another young lady shows up and 'knows' she wants the dress, we really can't refuse to sell it based on a 'maybe' from someone else. You'd want the same if you were that second girl, right? Also: Prom seasons is short, so we can't keep a dress off the floor. We DO have a layaway option, but iit requires a 50% non-refundable deposit, so it's NOT a good choice unless you're sure you want the dress.
CAN I BRING MY DRESS BACK IF I CHANGE MY MIND?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of our business (a short, intense selling season and one-time special occasion dresses), it's not possible for us to allow returns. This is absolutely the industry norm and standard rule. PLEASE double check to make sure you're happy with the fit and everything about your dress while you're still in the store.
WHEN SHOULD I SHOP TO GET THE BEST SELECTIONS FOR PROM?
Prom-shopping "season" for us is mostly December through April. Is there one 'best' time to shop? Not really. New dresses arrive all the time, so the selection changes every week. We will continue to receive new dresses, in new styles and colors, from December through March. Our designers ship them as they're made, so we usually get new options in every week. And of course we sell some of those every week. So come early in the season and get the first pick of the first-arriving inventory, OR come a later and have lots of new, different, 'just-arrived" choices. Either way, we're planning to WOW you, and to make sure your drive to Vian is always well worth the trip. (Also: Keep an eye on our November calendar: that's when we're likely to have big markdown sales of the prior year's inventory.)
CAN I BE SURE NOBODY AT MY PROM WILL HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME DRESS?
We'll try. We keep a log of dresses sold and events we're told they're going to. We can't guarantee it, but our GOAL is to not sell two identical dresses (same designer, same style, and same color) to girls we know are headed for the same prom. But remember: Someone can alway show up in a dress they bought somewhere else, and girls can always wear Glory dresses to proms we didn't know about. And if two dresses have different style numbers or are by different designers and they happen to look similar, that's not something we can possibly keep track of. The good news: Our styles are often very distinctive, so this plan will usually work.
DO YOU HAVE SHORT DRESSES?
We DO! We're testing the waters a bit, so you won't see the HUGE selection like we have for long dresses. We'll usually start the Fall season with at least 100 short dresses, though -- which is probably more than 'most' would carry. Not the HUGE selection you'll see for our long dresses. HOW ABOUT BRIDAL? MOTHER OF THE BRIDE? FLOWER GIRLS? . . .
No. If we're going to do something, we want to do it 'right,' and we're not ready yet for the bridal market. We want to make sure it's ALWAYS worth the drive to Vian. Maybe someday we'll branch out -- like when our Glory gals graduate and start getting married!??! We've just introduced short dresses, so who knows what's next!!
WHY VIAN?
Glory is a family business, and most of our family is from Vian and nearby small towns in eastern Oklahoma. We've found most girls/moms drive some distance (often to Dallas or around Oklahoma) to buy their dressses, so you may as well make the drive instead to a fun, casual small town. No traffic jams; no parking problems; no big-city hassles! Enjoy the mother-daughter outing! We're also excited to be a big part of revitalizing our town. DO YOU DO ALTERATIONS IN THE STORE?
No. If a dress doesn't fit just right, our first recommendation is to just keep looking and find one that does (We've got lots, and they all fit differently.). For hems or if your dress needs a tweak or two, it's probably easiest to take it back to your hometown and use a convenient seamstress you trust. We can offer some great recommendations for a seamstress in the Vian area if you need one.
WHAT SIZES DO YOU CARRY?
We've got sizes from 000 to 26W -- the whole range available from our vendors. The number of options we carry in each size is generally based on the number of customers we tend to have in each size.
